A: When picking up your ordered goat from Sloan Farms LLC, you are required to bring a valid photo ID and your order confirmation number. The photo ID is necessary to verify your identity and ensure the correct release of the animal, while the confirmation number helps us quickly locate your purchase details. Bringing both items will streamline the pickup process and help us maintain accurate records for the health and safety of all goats and customers.
A: At Sloan Farms LLC, we strongly recommend the CD/T vaccine for all goats because it protects them from three highly fatal clostridial diseases: overeating disease, caused by Clostridium perfringens types C and D, and tetanus, caused by Clostridium tetani. These bacteria are naturally present in soil and manure, environments common to any farm setting. Vaccinating your goats against these diseases is essential to prevent sudden illness and death, ensuring the health and well-being of your herd. By choosing Sloan Farms LLC for your goat purchases, you benefit from our commitment to responsible animal care, including guidance on vital vaccinations like the CD/T to maintain a healthy and thriving herd.
